The End

I may have said this before, but this will for sure be my last post in this blog. Stay tuned for 4ourthyear.blogspot.com , and I promise it'll be marginally more interesting than this one. Coming up:

Going to NYC- plenty of pictures and experiences
Going back to KY- because I absolutely adore this girl.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their summer as much as I will.

Sleep? What's that?

I haven't gotten anywhere near as much sleep as I should have gotten these past few days, but I'm definitely not complaining. I'd hate to jinx such a good thing, but I haven't felt this great in so long.

Keep the good times coming, I've got a southern belle.

I'll Miss Ya Bluegrass

So here I am, back in Michigan for the next 10 months or so. I had a great past 6 months in Kentucky, and I'm already looking forward to going back down there. I've got a couple reasons.

It feels strange being at home, eating dinner with the family, sitting here in my room, with clothes and semi-unpacked boxes everywhere. Of course, the first thing I set up was my computer and speakers. My pick for this week has definitely got to be Josh Ritter's Animal Years. This is probably the closest I've ever gotten to listening to country music, but I like to think Ritter is more folk rock than anything else. Take a listen, let me know what you think.

Right now, I couldn't be happier. It's nearly 3 in the morning, my contacts are drying out, and I'm tired beyond belief, but my mind is racing and my heart is keeping up. It's been a long while since I've felt like this, and I consider myself unbelievably fortunate. I can only hope that the streak continues right on through the rest of the summer.

Have a good week everyone, if today was any indication, I definitely will.

Last Day of Work - Not

Since I couldn't make my presentation today, I'll have to go in Monday and do it. Unbelievable.

Anyway, last night was kind of crazy. A bunch of us went to the Legends game (Thirsty Thursdays, how can you deny it?). I thought the night would be over after the game, after all, I did have to go to work at 7am the next day.

Garrett, the genius he is, decides that we're all going to the strip club. Sure, why the hell not? I've only got a couple more nights here, not like I'm going to be doing anything better. So we hit up Cowboy's first, let Keith have his fun, then went over to Solid Platinum.

I finally got home around 2:30 or 3 and just crashed, only to wake up at 7am. I raced to work (that's right, no shower, no cleaning up of any kind- I only brushed my teeth), and just wasted the whole day away. Everything I ate for the first half of the day tasted like Bud Light, and that made me angry. What a waste of food.

Nonetheless, fun night. I don't have a single regret, and that's the way it should be.

I'll be back in Michigan on Tuesday, not that more than 3 of you care. I know I can't wait.

Go Figure - Rain

My last week in Kentucky, and of course there's got to be the possibility of thunderstorms every day.

This weekend was fun, yesterday Park Place threw their annual pool party, which basically boiled down to free food and beer. And as if that weren't enough, the bonus was a raffle that I actually won- $100 off of one month's rent! Seeing as how our lease expires next Tuesday, I convinced the manager to just give us a refund on June's rent. So I'll take that.

It was hotter than hell yesterday. I just remember walking around on the deck and my feet burning, like I was walking on hot coals or something (hotfoot). And today was a complete 180, thunderstorms for a good part of the afternoon, which I didn't mind. It feels really cool out now.

Enough about the weather. I want to make the most of my last week here, try and do all the stuff I'd meant to do these past six months- go to a Legends game, go out on a date with a Kentucky girl, and a few other things I can't really think of right now.

The good news is that I'll be back down here in May. So instead of missing yet another semester at MSU, i'll be in Kentucky until August, which I'm really looking forward to. The summers are great here.

So have a good week, no matter where you are.

1 Week

Hey, it's been a while. I've been pretty busy with work, working out, etc. It's finally the end of the week, so I'm going to chill at the pool and enjoy this weekend. This will probably be my last full weekend down in Kentucky, and as much as I want to make the most of it, I'd rather just relax. I don't think I've slept more than 6 hours in any one night this whole week. If I sit down for more than 12 seconds, I'll pass out.

No More Mr. Big Head

When I was in third (or maybe it was fourth) grade, the doctor took my dad aside during my annual physical. "I am a little worried about his head size, it seems to be a little large for his age."

Of course, it didn't help that taking my dad aside meant moving 2 feet to the left of me; my giant ears (which were to scale with my enormous head) picked up every word my doctor said.

And finally, 11 years later, I am proud to state that my head has stopped growing, and is in fairly good proportion with the rest of my body. I might even go so far as to say that I have a nice looking cranium. If that's selfish, then forgive me, I really just wanted to rub it in that doctor's face.

I can't believe the Pistons lost tonight. No trip to the Finals this year, no ring for poor Antonio McDyess. Game 6 was probably the worst game I've ever seen this Pistons squad play. Just pathetic, no defense, no motivation whatsoever. Maybe Flip Saunders is to blame, maybe he isn't. All I know is that this loss wasn't the right way to start a work-free weekend.
