So here I am, back in Michigan for the next 10 months or so. I had a great past 6 months in Kentucky, and I'm already looking forward to going back down there. I've got a couple reasons.
It feels strange being at home, eating dinner with the family, sitting here in my room, with clothes and semi-unpacked boxes everywhere. Of course, the first thing I set up was my computer and speakers. My pick for this week has definitely got to be Josh Ritter's Animal Years. This is probably the closest I've ever gotten to listening to country music, but I like to think Ritter is more folk rock than anything else. Take a listen, let me know what you think.
Right now, I couldn't be happier. It's nearly 3 in the morning, my contacts are drying out, and I'm tired beyond belief, but my mind is racing and my heart is keeping up. It's been a long while since I've felt like this, and I consider myself unbelievably fortunate. I can only hope that the streak continues right on through the rest of the summer.
Have a good week everyone, if today was any indication, I definitely will.
